A painting of my favourite childhood holiday location, the Isle of Iona, in Scotland. The place where Christianity was founded in Scotland by Saint Columba. We would visit the island every year and would enjoy all it had to offer - white sandy beaches, turqoise blue sparkly sea, homemade bread at our hotel, lovely meals, places to visit, climbing the highest peak on the Island called Duni. Rock climbing, exploring, discovering the marble quarry (without a tour guide!). Iona Abbey services and singing hymns together! The Isle of Iona brings back wonderful memories and is breathtakingly beautiful. I hoped to capture this beauty in my painting!
